What is Pilates?

 

Developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century, pilates is a total body conditioning workout suitable for people of all ages and body types. It engages and refreshes the participant with intense challenge for the mind and body. Blending Eastern and Western philosophies of physical and mental conditioning, pilates is the original functional exercise.

About the B-FIT Pilates Center and Charlotte Addington Weikel

Located in the North Wood Plaza at 16116 N. Florida Ave., the B-FIT Pilates Center offers mat classes, equipment classes on the Reformer and Cadillac, as well as private and semi-private sessions utilizing, not only the Reformer and Cadillac, but also the spine corrector, workout balls, TRX, and Gyrotonic Pully Tower.

Charlotte Addington Weikel, pictured above on the Cadillac, has provided trainer certifications for teachers who are now located around the world from Paris, France; Bogata, Columbia; Sweden; Switzerland; and throughout the entire United States. Charlotte has created this new studio to cater to a smaller, more committed, clientelle that wishes to improve their health and experience the benefits that Pilates can produce. Sessions with Mary Bowen, a "Pilates Elder", have influenced Charlottes approach to life and teaching.  These experiences, along with her background in dance, make sessions with Charlotte rewarding, positive, and productive.  Call and speak with her today.
